What
is C-Band TV? aka BUD (BIG UGLY DISH )
C-Band
TV is the proper name for the big dish satellite systems you
see in the backyard of people throughout the country.
Many
programmers like HBO originate the TV signal, sending it to a
satellite in space. These signals are sending back to earth,
where satellite dishes or antennas receive them. This signal
is called first generation signal.
With
C-Band, you receive the original, first generation directly
from the source.
No signal compression. Just the cleanest, most direct picture
you can get.
With
small dish satellite systems, the distributor receives the
first generation signal. They compress and retransmit up to
another satellite, which them beams a second generation signal
to customer.
THERE
ARE 3 MAJOR ADVANTAGES C-BAND HAVE OVER SMALL DISH:
CHOICE
– More then 600 channels are available
VALUE
– Programming is often 20-30% cheaper than on small dish
QUALITY
– You receive first generation signal direct to your home,
the picture and sound quality is far superior to small dish. which
makes them the first choice for any serious Home Theater
installation, especially with HDTV.
